Springfield Illinois 1869 - 1927
The Illinois Watch Co produced many fine watches and was the third largest producer of jewelled watches behind Elgin and Waltham.
Their fine quality pocket watches were particularly popular amongst Railroad men including the excellent "Bunn Special" named after one of the company founders - John W Bunn.

time cannot be changed accidentally. Adjusted for temperature and 6 positions this is a Railroad grade timekeeper of the highest standard. Extra quality ruby & sapphire jewels with raised gold settings. Special quality hardened & tempered compensating balance with gold screws, polished gold train wheels, double roller escapement, Breguet hairspring, damaskeened plates and bridges. Illinois superior mainspring. Exceptional 16 size Railroad grade movement. Serial Number 3,857,092 dates this watch to 1921, the height of Railroad grade watch production.
